Masonic Temple Lofts

LOCATION

Long Beach, CA

PROJECT TYPE

Residential

RESIDENTIAL UNITS

85

Rich in history and character, the nearly 90-year-old Masonic Temple was transformed to invite residents in without compromising its visual appeal and historic value.

NUWI developed a plan to acquire the lots on both sides of the building to design two new contemporary steel and glass structures to accommodate lofts, common areas, and bring the historic building into the modern area. The Lofts include 85 residences, ranging between 800-3,500 SF with a swimming pool/spa, deck, underground parking, and storage — all conveniently located to the neighboring cafes, night clubs, restaurants, beaches and shops.

“It’s part of my job to work with urban developers, and its companies like New Urban West that create an exciting cityscape. They worked hard with my office, the City Council, and other government and community groups to achieve a project which they and the City will be proud of. They’re good business partners.”

— Melanie Fallon, Director, Huntington Beach Community Development
